Available Positions

 LEVEL 1
o Assemble, erect, mount and align Common Central Office or Data Center hardware
o Run and secure cable and perform basic wiring functions. This shall include, copper, fiber optic and coaxial cabling.
o Prepare cabling for termination to various pieces of telephony hardware
o Prepare and connect coaxial and fiber optic type cabling
o During removal operations perform cable verification and cable mining operations
o Mount and label a wide variety of telecommunication units, terminal blocks, and interconnect panels.

 LEVEL 2
o Perform basic power operations such as mounting relay rack or cabinet fuse panels and perform the termination of power feeders. This also includes the running and termination of local power leads from fuse panels to various units within a relay rack or cabinet.
o Interpret job specifications, floor plans, equipment and wiring drawings
o Perform complex wiring operations
o Perform basic installation testing, such as power verification, continuity, Cat5/6 testing and fiber optic loss testing.
o Prepare, connect and test coaxial and fiber optic cabling

 LEVEL 3

o Interpret, lay out and analyze job Method of Procedures, job specifications, floor plans, equipment and wiring documentation
o Interface with Job Supervisor/Project Manager and Engineering to resolve any order issues. Correct on site job specifications, drawings, documentation.
o In-Charge, lead and provide work assignments for Level 1 and 2 installers.
o Perform installation testing, such as power verification, hardware provisioning and system tests.

o Advise and mentor installers on the team
o Input job status, issues and requests and all expense-related information into the Project Management platform.
o Reconcile materials for sales order using web based inventory control forms
o Understand the scope of work and customer expectations as well as the profitability objectives and time frames.
Work closely with the Lead Installer and Installation Supervisor or Project Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.
Understand the scope of work of the job as well as the efficiency expectations given by the Installation Supervisor or Project Manager.
Interface directly with the Lead Installer, Installation Supervisor or Project Manager, and Engineering Department to resolve any order issues. Correct job specifications, drawings, documentation and record all changes in the Project Management platform.
Maintain tools assigned to the job as well as monitor tool calibration requirements
Perform hardware testing, such as power verification, device provisioning and system tests.
Responsible for all work meeting all customer standards.
Meet or exceed customer and internal documented acceptable levels of quality.


Level 4

o Installer should have minimum 5 years Data Center/PoP/CO installation experience.
o Should possess a good mechanical aptitude.
o Should possess a good knowledge of basic power tools.
o Should have the ability to adapt to various work environments
o Should have good knowledge of optical routing equipment installations
o Should have good knowledge of fiber optic cable installation & testing practices
o Should have good knowledge of AC/DC power
o Should have good knowledge of infrastructure installation work (equipment racks, cable racks and fiber duct etc.)

Proficiency in  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet; must be adept at learning different computer programs and business systems.
Must have clean driving and criminal records and successfully pass a drug test
Test equipment, tools and materials used in construction, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems and equipment.

Credentials and Experience:
Requires minimum of 5 years of Data Center/PoP/CO installation experience

Physical Demands
The employee will be required to use his/her hands 50% of the time to type, write, and handle paperwork.
The employee will be required to climb and work off of ladders.
The employee will be required to work under raised floors.
The employee will be required to cut and drill metal and concrete.
The employee must be able to distinguish between different colors.
The employee will be possibly riding to and from customer sites, sitting at a desk 10% of the time with walking between offices and other work areas from time to time and working in tight spaces that include computer network infrastructure.
The employee may, from time to time, be required to lift weight (i.e., paper boxes and installation materials) up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) is generally required, as the employee will be working at a computer, working with files & paperwork, working with tools and working on specialized computer & networking devices.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle and feel computers and standard business equipment; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; and climb and balance in high precarious places.

Work Environment:
The work environment can consist of a customer data center, central office, warehouse, computer networking or office network setting.

Special Requirements:
Due to the nature of our Customers’ requirements, work schedules and hours of operation are dynamic. The Lead Technician must be able to adjust to varying work schedules which may include all work shifts.
Some installers will be expected to travel periodically to work locations outside of commutable area.
Special Operations Installers – 100% travel is required
